Stitches

The works are a result of my online learning and practical research during the lockdown. The sewing aspect of bookbinding technique is subverted, and has become the protagonist of the 2-dimensional work. Within the tranquil domestic environment, I endeavour to exercise attentiveness, make own interpretation of the processes, amplify the voice of materials and get inspired by the measured lines. The self-imposed rules were observed throughout the making process.

I work on details to arrive at the whole field that reveals its own reality and meaning via its own unintelligible language. It intends to instigate the interpretation by the viewer’s own intuition, but not by words or intelligence.
